Picture bets are a roulette dealers best kept secret. They are the shortcut to adding up payouts quickly and easily. The more picture bets you memorize the quicker you’ll be able to add up payouts.
What is a picture bet?
A picture bet is a combination of chips of which you already know the total.
For example, you see a chip in the split position and another chip in the straight up position. The split chip pays 17 and the straight up chip pays 35. 17 + 35 = 52.
Once you remember that 17 + 35 pays 52, you’ll never have to add 17 and 35 in your head ever again. When you see the chip combination of 1 split and 1 straight up, you already know that it pays 52. See graphics below to see what this looks like in the app.

Let’s say you tapped the ‘Picture Bets In Order’ button. The first picture bet you’ll see is the most common one you’ll ever use. It’s the same one you learned above. 17 + 35 = 52
Each picture bet has a name, to help you remember it more easily. This particular picture bet is ‘Deck of Cards’ because there are 52 cards in a deck of playing cards.
Whenever you see this combination of chips on the layout, think of a deck of cards. This will remind you that the answer is 52.

Of course, when you tap the ‘Answer’ button, the app will show you the answer to this picture bet of 17 + 35.
Here’s another one. This is also a very common picture bet. It’s called Mickey Mouse Ears because it looks like……. wait for it……. Mickey Mouse’s Ears!
Add the two corners (16) and a straight up (35) and you get a total of 51.
